Accelerated Secondary (Grade 11 &12)
Program Eligibility
Students who have strong Grade 10 academic results can, with signed parental consent, choose not to pursue a BC Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood Diploma). Instead, they may enter Columbia College’s fast-track Accelerated Secondary Program, which allows them to transition directly into the University Transfer or Associate Degree Program at Columbia College and later transfer into the second or third year at a Canadian university.

*The three Academic Grade 12 courses can be chosen from a selection of courses such as: Chemistry 12, Comparative Cultures 12, 20th Century World History 12, Law Studies 12, Physical Geography 12, Physics 12, Math 12 (Pre-calculus), Social Justice 12
Note: not all courses are available every semester.
- Prerequisite courses must be completed and may increase the number of credits required to complete the program. Note that most Grade 12 courses have Grade 11 prerequisites.

Upon successful completion of the above courses, students will receive the Columbia College Accelerated Secondary Program Graduation Certificate.

Students completing the Columbia College Accelerated Program will not receive a BC Ministry of Education Dogwood Diploma and are not directly admissible to an external university.
- Students may continue their studies in the University Transfer (UT)/Associate Degree Program at Columbia College if they have a minimum average of C (60%) in four academic Grade 12 courses.
