Admission Requirement

Admission requirements vary depending on where you attended high school and the program you are applying to.
To be admissible to an academic program at Columbia College High School, you must:
- Meet the College’s requirements for the program you are applying to
- Meet the College’s minimum English Language requirement
- Be at least 15 years of age when starting at the College

REQUIREMENTS FOR HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS (GRADES 10, 11 & 12)
English language requirement
Students will be placed at the appropriate English level before starting a High School Program. They can demonstrate their English proficiency by submitting External English test scores (see table below), or by taking Columbia College’s English Placement Test (LWA) and their high school transcript.

- BC Senior Secondary Dogwood Diploma Program: Students who have successfully completed Grade 10 English overseas and fulfilled language proficiency requirements stated above, will be placed in English 11, which is a mandatory course in the BC Dogwood Program.
- BC Adult Dogwood Diploma Program: Students must have successfully completed both Grade 10 and 11 English or can demonstrate their English proficiency by providing external English test scores.
- Columbia College Accelerated High School Program: Students who have successfully completed Grade 10 or 11 English overseas will be placed in either Grade 11 or 12 English.
- Students with an English level below English 10 can begin their studies at one of Columbia College’s ESL partner schools.
